1. What is DONTBEAC?

DONTBEAC (dontbeac.app) is an independent software development, developer tooling, and technical research platform founded in 2026 by software engineer Aditya Jaiswal.

The project was created to address a specific problem in modern software engineering: the gap between marketing claims about artificial intelligence and what actually works deterministically inside production codebases. We publish empirical model evaluations, reproducible code architecture breakdowns, and verified configuration blueprints for developers who build production systems.

2. What are you building?

We are building a comprehensive developer knowledge and workflow execution platform that combines:

  • Production Failure Post-Mortems: Deep, reproducible post-mortem analyses of where AI-generated code breaks, including silent compiler state drift, token exhaustion traps, and context window degradation.
  • Developer Tooling Evaluations: Empirical testing of AI coding CLIs, IDE extensions (such as Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf), and vector storage frameworks under real multi-file monorepo constraints.
  • Deterministic Configuration Vault: Curated repository of verified prompt architectures, .cursorrules definitions, and agent execution blueprints.
  • Interactive Developer Assistant (In Active Development): An upcoming natural-language interface allowing engineers to query our post-mortem database, test prompt syntax, and validate agentic configuration files directly in the browser.

3. What problem does it solve?

Most online tutorials and promotional posts regarding AI tools present idealized, superficial demos. In real-world enterprise engineering, developers face concrete operational roadblocks:

  • Uncontrolled API token burn during long-horizon coding tasks.
  • Hallucinations in complex multi-file TypeScript or Python codebases.
  • Authentication and configuration hurdles (such as Claude Code CLI permission errors).
  • Inconsistent agent tool usage when invoking local shell and database utilities.

DONTBEAC provides tested solutions, practical workarounds, and strict architectural constraints that eliminate guesswork for working developers.

4. Who is it for?

Our target audience consists of:

Software EngineersFull-stack, frontend, and backend developers implementing agentic workflows into production codebases.
Technical FoundersEarly-stage startup builders evaluating API pricing, token efficiency, and model tradeoffs between Claude, GPT, and Gemini.
Platform EngineersDevOps and infrastructure teams managing API keys, rate limits, and secure local CLI agent deployments.

5. How does it work?

The platform operates through a hybrid access model:

  • Free Open Access: In-depth technical guides, tool comparisons, daily international AI news, and public troubleshooting walk-throughs are accessible freely without registration.
  • Authenticated Member Vault: Registered engineers can access specialized system configuration templates, prompt architecture blueprints, and deep post-mortem teardowns.
  • Purchasing Power Parity (PPP): We offer localized subscription pricing via Razorpay and Stripe to ensure affordable access for developers globally.

6. What stage is it currently at?

DONTBEAC is an active, live early-stage web product.

  • Production Infrastructure: Built with Next.js 15, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Supabase authentication, and Prisma ORM, deployed live on Vercel at https://dontbeac.app.
  • Published Content & Workflows: Over 90 detailed technical guides, 15 daily AI news reports, and multi-tool evaluations are live and indexed.
  • Current Engineering Milestone: Designing and benchmarking the interactive Claude API integration to enable real-time prompt linting and architecture verification for developers.

7. Who is behind it?

The platform is founded, built, and maintained by Aditya Jaiswal, an independent software engineer and AI researcher. Aditya conducts hands-on testing of LLM models and developer tooling, reproduces production issues, and oversees all platform code and editorial standards.

Detailed editorial standards and research methodology can be reviewed on our About & Standards Page.

8. How is Claude relevant to the product?

Anthropic's Claude models represent a central focus of our technical evaluations and platform roadmap:

Current Research & Workflows

We actively use Claude (including Claude 3.5 Sonnet and the Claude Code CLI) as our primary tool for static codebase analysis, code generation benchmarking, and documentation verification. We author detailed guides for developers on maximizing Claude's coding performance and resolving CLI authentication issues.

Planned Claude API Integration (Claude Startups Program Purpose)

We are applying to the Claude Startups Program to integrate Anthropic's API into our production platform to power:

  • Interactive Prompt & Configuration Validator: A tool allowing developers to input their custom .cursorrules and agent instructions to receive structured semantic feedback, linting, and risk detection powered by Claude 3.5 Sonnet.
  • Natural-Language Post-Mortem Search: Enabling developers to query error messages and architecture failures against our technical post-mortem library using Claude for contextual retrieval and summarization.
  • Automated Code Diff Reviewer: Providing automated review of AI-generated multi-file diffs to prevent regressions before developers merge code.
