Why Verification Matters
Digital streaming rights are geographically fragmented and expire on set licensing dates. A title available on subscription in India may only be available as a paid rental in the United States, or stream free with ads in the United Kingdom.
FlixWatch exists to eliminate the frustration of outdated search results by applying a standardized, date-stamped verification protocol to every title in our catalog.
The 4-Step Verification Workflow
Step 1: Regional Catalog Inspection
For each tracked country (India, United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia), our research desk inspects primary streaming platform catalogs:
- Subscription Services: Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ / Disney+ Hotstar, Max, Paramount+, Peacock, Zee5, JioCinema, SonyLIV.
- Transactional VOD (Rental / Purchase): Apple TV / iTunes, Amazon Video Store, Google Play / YouTube Movies, BookMyShow Stream.
- Free Legal Ad-Supported (FAST / AVOD): Tubi, Pluto TV, YouTube Free Movies, Amazon Freevee, JioCinema Free Tier.
Step 2: Tier & Monetization Classification
Every verified provider is cataloged under one of four unambiguous tiers:
- Free (Legal): Completely free to watch legally with advertisements or via an authorized public library card (e.g., Kanopy, Hoopla, Tubi). Requires no paid subscription.
- Subscription: Included at no extra charge within an active paid streaming subscription plan.
- Rent: Available for temporary digital viewing (typically a 48-hour rental window).
- Buy: Available for permanent digital purchase and library ownership.
Step 3: Date-Stamping & Status Assignment
Each record is assigned a verification status and an explicit timestamp:
Verified: Directly confirmed active in the specified country within the last 14 days.Needs Re-check: Any record older than 14 days is queued for automatic re-inspection.Unconfirmed / Theatrical / Upcoming: Titles currently in exclusive theatrical exhibition or pre-release where streaming dates have not yet arrived.
Step 4: Community Corrections
Every movie page features a direct "Report a correction" link. If a streaming platform suddenly removes a title or adds a new regional audio track, our team investigates reader reports and updates the ledger within 24 to 48 hours.
